  1. Today, Mom! (May - June 1993)
    [Segodnja, mama!]
Parody SF thriller. Two kids get into the future and into the past, travel to Venus and ancient Egypt, enjoy space-time paradoxes and encounter all kinds of strange people and other creatures. By the way, do you know why the ancient Egyptians worshipped cats?...

  2. Island of Russia (December 1993 - January 1994)
    [Ostrov Russ]
Parody... er, folk saga. In the distant future nostalgic romantics "re-create" the Holy Mother Russ of the Russian folklore, complete with bogatyrs (warriors), Prince Vladimir the Sun, evil King Koschey the Deathless, and etc. Yet, since our descendants lack knowledge of exact historical details, the set looks somewhat strange, and the crazy plot suspiciously smells of the Three Musketeers - and lots of other well- (or ill-) known stories.

Of its population , the most mysterious are the Divers, who can at will resist the deep-program and see not only the display picture as it is (where everyone sees an illusion of a very real world) but also programs with all their "holes" as images, and do things which the best hackers could never dream of.

It's almost our time. The mankind is accepted as a member to the Conclave of the Worlds - but only as a Junior Race, serving the Senior Races as interstellar truck-drivers. By a strange caprice of the nature, we are the only race which can survive a sub-space Jump, and human Space Shuttles, Burans and Spirals with quite simple jumpers can go where giant alien cruisers cannot. Earth is now a galactic Third-World-world, polluted, exploited and cheated in interstellar trade, as are other Junior Races. The Junior Races, not happy with the order of things, make a plot against their masters, and in the course of the conspiracy a young Russian pilot Pyotr makes contact with Geometers, a new race, possibly dangerous for the Conclave....

Night Patrol
(mystical thriller)
[Nochnoj Dozor]

  1. Night Patrol (January - August 1998)
    [Nochnoj Dozor]
When you walk a familiar street, you can be attacked. By a vampire. A licensed vampire. Well, if the creature has no license, it will be stopped by the Night Patrol - perhaps. The Night Patrol is a police of the Bright Otherers. (An Otherer is a human - (or is he... it?) with powers traditionally described as magical). The Night Patrol enforces the Treaty of the Bright and the Dark Otherers... and so does the Day Patrol (naturally, it is the police of the Dark Otherers). Werewolves, werebears, weretigers and even wereiguanas are real, so are witches, wizards, vampires, necromancers and other fairy-tale characters, only they look just like the man next door, in fact, they ARE the people next door. The Dark Otherers and the Bright ones are in the endless fight, yet this is not the good guys vs. the bad guys. Just Otherers against Otherers....
